Biblical Studies BA

Columbia's Biblical Studies Program has recently gone through some exciting revisions. Students who intend to stay for
the full four year BA program now have the opportunity to select one of seven "Minors" that fit their abilities and interests.
Biblical Studies BA
Since Columbia believes that faith formation and biblical study should lead to service and leadership, each BA
student is invited to select a Minor which focuses biblical studies in some direction. Students interested in applying their studies to a
church setting will likely be intersted in the Youth Work, Worship Arts, Church Ministry, or Working with Children Minors. Students who
intend to apply their studies cross culturally are drawn to the Intercultural Studies Minor while those with a heart of camping ministries will
likely select the Outdoor Recreation Leadership Minor. Finally, those students who have particularly been drawn to the biblical languages and
biblical geography and archaeology tend to choose the Bible Teaching Minor.
Columbia believes that practical experience is essential for the application of training to the real world so each BA
student is expected to spend a significant amount of time working in a context that fits their area of interest--as exemplified by their selection of
a Minor. As a result, Biblical Studies BA students can be found interning in a variety of church ministries, Christian secondary schools or Colleges
as "Intern Teachers", Christian camps, or even overseas in parachurch ministries.
