My seven month internship was spent in Guadalajara, Mexico, where I worked alongside the 5 members of the Matthew team. While in Mexico, I helped lead the church youth group, mentored teen girls, lived with a single mother of five, coached volleyball, taught English and was discipled by the members of the Matthew Team. Discipleship is the heart of the team I joined, and their passion to encourage people closer to the heart of God and to live as examples was something I picked up on and learned a lot about. Trever and the rest of the team challenged me to be intentional with my life. Discipleship isn't something that just happens in a one on one setting, but in everything I do. Every conversation can be an open door to encourage someone or help them go a little bit deeper in their relationship with God. As I look to the future, I'm not sure what God has or where I'll wind up. But no matter where I go or what I do, I want to breathe life into others through discipleship.
