Service Practicum Policies
Two credits of service practicum are required for graduation from a certificate program and four credits are required for graduation from a
diploma or BA program.
Most students will complete Service Practicum in the following manner:
Year 1: Semester 1 - Service Practicum
1
Semester 2 - Service Practicum 2
Year 2: Semester 1 - Service Practicum
3
Semester 2 - Service Practicum 4
Please note: You must register for each service practicum
course at registration/pre-registration. You will not automatically be placed in Service Practicum.
Each credit
hour includes a minimum of 24 hours of supervised volunteer experience.
Service Practicum Placements must meet
the following criteria:

Be at least 2-3 hours/week

Be a volunteer position, not a paid position

Have a supervisor to oversee and give an evaluation at the end of each semester
