How to sign up for Service Practicum:

  1. Read your handbook. If you did not receive a handbook, please see the Service Practicum Office for a copy. All students in SP I receive a copy in class, other students will need to pick one up from Kathleen Doll.

  2. Choose a placement. Look at the postings below for placement options, attend the service fair, or choose one you've found on your own. Ask Kathleen Doll if you need help finding something or would like more information about opportunities. Be sure that anything you find on your own meets the SP requirements (see handbook).

  3. Contact the organization and set up your placement with them. Ensure that you understand what they expect of you and make sure they understand what is expected of them as a supervisor (see handbook).

  4. Once you have your placement arranged with the organization, complete the registration form (below).

  5. Start your SP placement the week of September 19-25 (Returning Students) or October 3-9 (New Students). SP Placements for Returning Students must be confirmed by September 25th. SP Placements for New Students must be confirmed by October 9th.

  6. If you have any questions email the Service Practicum Office

Service Practicum Postings
All available placements through CBC are posted here. You are also free to choose something you found on your own, just be sure it meets the requirements.
