canadian student loans
Answers to your questions about student loans
Canadian Student Loans
Canada and Provincial Student Loans are a wise choice, if you are eligible, because no interest or principal payments are required while attending
a post secondary institution full-time. Columbia Bible College students may qualify for both Canada Student Loans and Provincial Student Loans.
Please see your home province website below for application and additional information.
Eligibility
To be eligible for regular student loans, students must be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours each semester and be Canadian citizens or
permanent residents of Canada. Students taking less than 9 credit hours in a semester may be eligible for a part-time student loan.
Application Process
It is the student's responsibility to inquire with the appropriate provincial office regarding Student Loan documents (see contact info for your
province below). Students must be fully accepted and registered in classes before Columbia Bible College can submit the school portion of the
application form (Appendix 3). Please allow 60-90 days for government processing of the application. Please note that student loans
may not cover the entire costs of your studies at Columbia Bible College.
For September admission, you are encouraged to apply for Student Loans between June 1 (or as soon as the applications are
accepted) and July 15 to have your loan approved and ready by September. For January admission, you are encouraged to apply for Student
Loans between October 1 and November 15 to have your loan approved and ready by January.
Applications submitted after July 15 (for September entry) and November 15 (for January entry) may not be approved and processed before class
start date, please be sure to have an alternative payment method prepared for the financial payment deadline.
