Canadian Government Student Loans

Columbia Bible College students may qualify for both Canada Student Loans and Provincial Student Loans. It is the student's responsibility to inquire with the appropriate provincial office regarding Student Loan documents. (See contact info)

Please allow 60-90 days for government processing of the application. For September admission, you are encouraged to apply for Student Loans between June 11th and July 15th; for January admission, you are encouraged to apply for Student Loans by October 1 and before November 15.

Canada and Provincial Student Loans are a wise choice, if you are eligible, because no interest or principal payments are required while attending a post secondary institution full-time.

Eligibility: Undergraduates who are enrolled in at least 9 credit hours and who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

Visit: The Canlearn website for more info on National Student Loans.

Note: government loans may not cover the entire cost of both semesters.

To apply for a Canada Student Loan or a Provincial Student Loan, contact your Provincial Office (see contact info provided in this document) or Click here for the CanLearn website.

BC Students: Please apply online at http://www.aved.gov.bc.ca/studentservices/ for student loans.

Columbia Bible College CDN School Code is #APAJ

It is strongly recommended that you place any funds for second semester from Student Loans, savings or other in a 90 or 120 day term deposit with a bank until second semester. This helps prevent you from running out of funds for second semester.

US Federal Student Aid

You may be eligible for US based financial assistance such as Stafford Loans, Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and PLUS Loans. To apply for federal financial aid, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Canadian schools require the paper version, not the electronic version. As a result of your FAFSA application, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR), which you will then need to send to Columbia Bible College along with your Stafford Loan Application. See http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ for further information.

Columbia Bible College US School Code is G22011

If you have any questions, or require additional information on student financial assistance, you may contact your high school guidance counsellor or the Federal Student Aid Information Centre. U.S.

Also Download the Financial Assistance Portfolio (PDF) for more information on US student loans.
