It's April, Easter's coming soon, and it's almost the end of the year! Maybe you remember what the last few weeks of school were like when you were a student; a full schedule of events, lots of studying, writing those end of semester papers, many hours of hanging out with friends, and lots of stress over the future "unknowns". When you think about our students, please pray for them!

ALUMNI RELATIONS

Alumni Gatherings

Alumni Gatherings are being scheduled mid-May for alumni living in the Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, and Prince George areas. If you live in any of these areas, please be sure your contact information is up-to-date so we can send you more information once the details have been finalized.

10 year Reunion ('95-'97)

Planning is complete and invitations/information are out in the mail. If you attended CBC between September 1995 and April 1997, and you don't receive information please contact the Alumni Relations Office. Information is also available at www.columbiabc.edu/alumni

The Great Alumni Search

We've had a great response to the creation of the Alumni Relations office. Many people have submitted alumni update forms and our email and white pages lists are growing daily, but there are many people we still have lost touch with and you can help! People move or change their name and we lose track of them so we are continuously searching for alumni. You are our greatest resource as many of you have stayed in touch with classmates, friends, relatives, or even people you attend church with or work with. You know information that we don't! Check with fellow alumni to see if they are receiving mail from us, if not, we would appreciate information to point us in the right direction or your connection with that person to encourage them to contact us and update their information. The best is to direct them to the website to fill out an alumni update form found at www.columbiabc.edu/alumni!

Alumni Management Software

We are considering a new Campus Management Software to meet our current and future needs to track student and alumni information, and provide support for many other areas of the college. We want to hear from you...what would you like to be able to do online that you are presently not able to do? Would you like to have access your information? Be able to automatically update your contact information (right now I just enter the info into our database)? Have groups/message boards online? Better ways to communicate with other alumni? Any other ideas? We'd like to hear your ideas, so email them to alumni@columbiabc.edu as soon as possible.

April 21: Graduation Ceremony

The college's graduation ceremony will take place on Saturday, 21 April 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Central Heights Church in Abbotsford. All are invited to celebrate this event with us.

May 1: Annual Columbia Open Golf Tournament

Columbia's Annual Golf Tournament will happen May 1st at Chilliwack Golf and Country Club. Deadline to register is April 13th. Details and registration/sponsorship information available at www.columbiabc.edu/development/columbiaopen2007_new.html.

STAFF/FACULTY UPDATES

Kathleen Doll (Alum '00-'04, Staff '04-'06), former Resident Director, will be returning to work at CBC as the Intercultural Studies Assistant beginning in August of this year. She will take over responsibility for the Urban Mission Adventures. Welcome back, Kathleen!

Shirley (Voth) Esau (Alum '76-'78, Staff '96-'07), Executive Assistant to the President, has taken a position at the Chilliwack Hospice Society. She will conclude her employment at CBC April 14th, but plans to continue being involved at CBC. Shirley will be greatly missed!

Christa (Hendy) Brand (Alum '99-'03, Staff '04-present), Admissions Counsellor, is on maternity leave as of the end of March. Congratulations Christa!

Ashley Russo (Alum '03-'06) will be filling the Admissions Counsellor position. Ashley brings great experience to the Admissions Team as a former Admissions Intern.

CBC welcomes Tanya Goertz as the new Accounting Clerk.
