Wiebe will be competing in a field with 20 other players from across Canada. She will have a chance to learn about the course during her practice round on Wednesday, October 20 before she begins competition on Thursday.

Hosted by St. Clair College and held at the Fox Glen Golf and Country Club, the tournament will be contested over three rounds of golf, ie. 54 holes, on Thursday 20th, Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of October.

This is the first golf national championship for Wiebe and for Columbia.  "Josie and her coach (Herman Wiebe) have worked hard all season and we are excited for them," commented CBC Athletic Director Tim Demant.  "Playing at a National Championship of this calibre is a great honour and opportunity."

Some of the top collegiate golfers will come from all over Canada to play in the annual tournament, now in its 5th year. The field will include over 80 male golfers and over 20 female golfers.

"On the female side, defending National Champions from Champlain College will have a younger look but should still be strong contenders in pursuit of their 2nd title. Coming off their first ever OCAA Championship in their school’s history, Durham College must be considered a strong contender to take the title. The Humber Hawks and a strong St. Clair College, also from Ontario, will be looking to knock off the champions from 2004. St. Clair College and Fox Glen are excited about hosting the event and are looking forward to the week; their goal is to leave a lasting impression on the participants," noted Mike Duggan, CCAA National Golf Convenor.
