About the Coach:
The Bearcats are led by Rocky Olfert, who took over the men's program in 2008-09. In 2009-10 Rocky
led the Bearcats to a 9-7 league record, their first winning season since 2003-04. In 2007-08 Rocky was an assistant coach with the men's
volleyball program at Trinity Western University. From 2001-2007 he led the women's program at Columbia.
Outside of Columbia, Rocky
has also
been involved with the BC Provincial Team program. In 2007 he led the 17U team to a gold medal at the Western Canada Summer Games. In
the spring of 2008 he was named BC's head coach for the 2009 Canada Summer Game team that will compete in P.E.I.. In July 2008 he took this
team to Korea to compete against various pro and club teams. Rocky is also president of Columbia Volleyball Club.
