bearcat awards

Bearcat scholarships are distributed individually by the Head Coach of the volleyball, basketball and golf teams.  These awards CANNOT be applied for as it is up to the coach in conjunction with the Athletic Department to determine scholarship amounts to recruited and returning student athletes.   Criteria is typically based on athletic talent, academic achievement and financial aid. 

Note:
All awards will be equally distributed over both semesters provided the student athlete maintains good academic standing.

1. Entering Student-Athlete Awards

a) The recipients must be entering full-time student-athletes (1st year or transfer student) accepted by the Admissions Department of Columbia Bible College;

b) The recipients must be eligible to participate by their Association (CCAA) and the Columbia Bible College eligibility standards;

c) This award is limited to Volleyball, Basketball and Golf student-athletes only;

d) Both the amounts and the recipients are determined by the College.

2. Returning Student-Athlete Awards

a) The recipients must be a returning student-athlete who has been a full-time student for at least one semester at Columbia Bible College and be a student in good standing;

b) Student-athletes must be eligible students and have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 cumulative GPA to qualify;

c) Both the amount and the recipients are determined by the College;

d) This award is limited to Volleyball, Basketball and Golf student-athletes only.

Bearcats in Nicaragua
The Bearcats men's soccer team traveled to Nicaragua during Reading Break to play exhibition games and conduct soccer camps with Athletes In Action. The players took turns writing a blog during the trip, read it here.

Boon named All-Conference
The Bearcats men's basketball team captain and leading scorer, Kyle Boon, was named to the 2nd team All-Conference by the coaches of the BCCAA. Kyle was second in league scoring, averaging 20 points per game.
