What Our Grads Say

Jon Wiebe, BA Grad

I chose to attend CBC because of the Youth Work program and the reputation that came with it. With the addition of the third year internship since I graduated, CBC has positioned themselves as a leader among other Youth Work programs; it is an incredible opportunity to get in the field training. The four years I spent at CBC were some of the best years of my life; connecting with fellow students, experiencing dorm life, and having meals at teachers houses. I would definitely encourage ANYONE interested in going into Youth Work to seriously consider CBC.

Benjamin Tse, BA Grad 2011

The youth work program has been a great experience. It not only gives students the opportunity to study in classes that dive deeper into the Bible, but also includes classes that combine biblical truths with contemporary issues. The third year internship is unlike any other program and allows students to practice the theories developed in class. The internship taught me that biblical knowledge is not enough by itself, but requires character and life skills to live out the gospel. Coming back for a fourth year helped solidify my experience and created a foundation that will last a lifetime. This unique experience helped me mature in faith as well as gave me a thirst to continually grow.

Megan Stewart, BA Grad

CBC is an awesome place to prepare you for youth ministry and life. I loved it so much I decided to drag out a four year degree over 7 years! I would probably say that the thing that made the biggest impact on me wasn’t the papers I wrote, or the classes I sat through, or the tests I passed, but the teachers who invested in me and pushed me to learn and grow in my faith, and in my passion for youth ministry. It wasn’t so much what I learned, though I did learn a lot and it is of great value, but more who was teaching it to me, and the impact they made on my life. CBC invests in its students beyond just an education.

Alex Dixon, BA Grad 2010

CBC is an incredible school to attend for anyone interested in church ministry as a vocation or as a volunteer. The youth work degree is a well-rounded program that equips a person in all areas for full time ministry. It is challenging, informative, and very thorough in teaching people about engaging students, youth culture, and families with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My experience at CBC has lead me to many great opportunities in youth ministry and has prepared me very well for the ministry I am now apart of. If anyone is interested in investing themselves in youth ministry and education I would highly recommend CBC and the youth work degree program.

Steve Roukema, BA Grad 2011

My time at CBC allowed me to confirm my passions for youth ministry and put my theology into practice. My desire to develop the character of youth to be Christ-like was taught through selected courses, but more importantly by the example of the professors who taught the courses. Learning from someone who has the ministry experience necessary to teach gave me the motivation and confidence to know that what I was learning is from the heart and for the purpose of passing on to other leaders in ministry. The youth degree program at CBC motivated and inspired me to not only rethink how and why I am involved in youth ministry, but also strengthened my relationship with Jesus and prepared me for years of leading a ministry with the passions and desires God has created me with.
