Columbia's Technology Department

Columbia's Information Technology Department's mandate is simple: "To Serve." It is our belief that through the use of various technologies we can not only assist current methods of learning but enhance and provide avenues for further intellectual growth.  We look at the management of various networks, desktops, laptops, classroom A/V equipment and software as tools that support the college's goals.

Some areas with which the IT Department is involved on campus are:

  • Office Desktop and Laptop Computers
  • Thin Client Computing
  • Staff and Public Networks
  • Student ID Cards
  • Classroom Audio Visual Equipment
  • Dining Room Tills
  • Campus Access
  • Campus security/surveilllance
  • Laundry and Printing Services
  • Central Student Information Services
  • Web site management
  • Athletic event web casting
  • Cell and Office Phones
  • Wireless/Mobile networks
  • Data integrity and security.
  • and the list goes on.....

In today's world, technology seems to be everywhere. Our goal is to make it as easy and seamless to use for students, staff and faculty and to assure that it is an enhancement to reaching our goals at Columbia.
