What Our Grads Say

"My time at Columbia Bible College was fantastic. It was full of learning experiences guided by professors and mentors who genuinely cared about my growth as a student and person. I was consistently encouraged to ensure that my study of the Bible was not merely to gain more knowledge about God but to help me know God more. Columbia was also instrumental in forming a strong foundation for my current role in church leadership.

My classroom experiences gave me the opportunity to learn how to read, understand, and exegete the Bible, to lead people well and to resolve conflicts in a healthy manner. The Urban Mission Adventure gave me the opportunity to see first-hand how worship goes beyond what we do in a church service or our private devotional time and extends to how we engage in the world and people around us. My internship experience presented the opportunity to flesh out my head knowledge in a focused and meaningful way and helped provide a holistic learning experience at Columbia.

My experience at Columbia did not replace the learning experiences and opportunities provided by being committed to and deeply engaged in a local church, but my time at Columbia was invaluable for preparing me for my current role in full-time church leadership. I'm deeply thankful to the faculty and staff at Columbia for the impact they have had on my life; I pray and hope that God will continue to use Columbia to prepare people for a life of discipleship, service and ministry for the edification of the Church, the good of the world and the Glory of God."

"Two years after graduating from the Worship Arts program at CBC, I feel as though I am just now able to begin to understand the impact it had on me. Whether through classes, discussion with friends, or relationships with professors, I was shaped in many profound ways.

One of the most formative experiences was my participation in the Global Semester abroad. The three months travelling Europe as part of this semester abroad was opportunity not only to see, but also to participate in the Church outside of the North American context. This experience looms large in my understanding of the growth and development of the Western Church and helps to highlight the reasons for the differences that exist within it. It fostered within me an appreciation for a spectrum of worship practices and helped better equip me to function in my own church context. It was both an enlightening and humbling adventure.

My experience in the Worship Arts program also led me to pursue further education and I am currently studying for a Master's degree at Regent College in Vancouver. My hope is to remain within the educational realm after graduation. As it had such impact on me, I hope to one day also have a role in the shaping of other students.

Aside from my studies I am involved at a local church as the Worship Arts Intern. This is an opportunity for the outworking of my learning experience in the Worship Arts program, and something for which I feel so much more prepared having completed such a degree. It is yet another time of growth and development as I seek to facilitate the worship of our Triune God with a community of believers."
