"Two years after graduating from the Worship Arts program at CBC, I feel as though I am just now able to begin to understand the impact it had on me. Whether through classes, discussion with friends, or relationships with professors, I was shaped in many profound ways.
One of the most formative experiences was my participation in the Global Semester abroad. The three months travelling Europe as part of this semester abroad was opportunity not only to see, but also to participate in the Church outside of the North American context. This experience looms large in my understanding of the growth and development of the Western Church and helps to highlight the reasons for the differences that exist within it. It fostered within me an appreciation for a spectrum of worship practices and helped better equip me to function in my own church context. It was both an enlightening and humbling adventure.
My experience in the Worship Arts program also led me to pursue further education and I am currently studying for a Master's degree at Regent College in Vancouver. My hope is to remain within the educational realm after graduation. As it had such impact on me, I hope to one day also have a role in the shaping of other students.
Aside from my studies I am involved at a local church as the Worship Arts Intern. This is an opportunity for the outworking of my learning experience in the Worship Arts program, and something for which I feel so much more prepared having completed such a degree. It is yet another time of growth and development as I seek to facilitate the worship of our Triune God with a community of believers."
