Campus Recreation exists to promote and provide opportunities for fitness, fun, and fellowship through participation in a variety of recreation programs including intramurals and tournaments, as well as other recreation events. Students can also take advantage of drop-in times to use the gym during weekdays. For the 2020-2021 academic year CBC students and staff wanting to use the Fitness Centre will need to make an online booking to do so . In providing a(see detials below). Facilities & Equipment

Columbia Recreation offers beautiful facilities for a number of activities and sports. As well, Columbia Bible College is surrounded by other community recreation facilities that students can take advantage of.

Columbia Recreation Facilities

Columbia Place
The home of Columbia Bearcat Athletics, Columbia Place includes regulation sized volleyball and basketball courts, a fully-equipped fitness center, changes rooms and therapy room.

All facilities are available during scheduled hours unless previously booked. All students must present their Columbia Bible College student card for entrance into the fitness center and gymnasium, and must sign-in upon arrival. During the school year, please see the gym schedule posted at Columbia Place for regular hours.

Proper gym attire (including non-marking gym shoes) is required at all times during facility use. Lockers are available for use free of charge. Locks are not supplied so please bring your own.

WEIGHT ROOM USE REQUIRES ONLINE BOOKING FOR 2020-2021 
Due to COVID students and staff are asked to book a time online in order to use the Fitness Centre. One hour time slots are available throughout the day Monday through Saturday.

When booking your time first select one of the Fitness Centre user spots ( through 5). If the day and time you are looking for is booked try selecting a different user number. CBC students and staff can book online at any time even the day of as long as there is a spot available. Bookings can also be made for the whole semester during times that work with your schedule. Unfortunately there is not "reoccuring" option so users will need to book each work out time. When completing a booking the system asks if you would like to make another booking and can auto fill most information. CBC Athletics & Recreation asks that when booking times students and staff take into account that space is limited. Please do your best to use your bookings. If you need to cancel or change bookings no problem.

Back 40
The Back 40 is Columbia's on-campus outdoor field. On sunny days students can be found playing impromptu games of touch football or ultimate Frisbee.

Rec Room
The Rec Room is located in the basement of the Student Centre. This multipurpose room includes pool tables, ping pong, foosball, a lounge area, TVs, bouldering wall and is home to the student-run Holy Grounds Cafe.

Equipment

Students may sign out equipment by showing their student card at the athletics office in Columbia Place. Available equipment includes:

  • Pickle Ball equipment
  • Soccer balls
  • Footballs
  • Frisbee
  • Bocce

Columbia is centrally located and provides opportunities for students to take advantage of community facilities. These include:

Squash courts, racquetball, group exercise classes and weights.

Outdoor running track and fair grounds.

Baseball diamonds, soccer and rugby fields.
