Candidates for StuCo President

The StuCo President

The president is the overall leader of StuCo and the Students Association. The president watches over and directs the team, casts overall vision, manages various administrative duties, chairs meetings, and is responsible for the overall mission of the Students Association and its values. This involves both the planning around and execution of StuCo events/activities, as well as various student initiatives. The President is also an advocate on behalf of all students, representing them at various levels, bringing the needs of students to the campus. In this way, the president is also a liason between the Students Association and various departments on campus. Ultimately, the president guides the StuCo team and Student Association towards the overall mission of the college.

Trever Renshaw

Meet Trever

Hi, my name is Trever! I love God, people, and spending time out in nature. I am currently running for the position of CBC Student Body President on next year’s Stuco team. I am running for this position because I have a passion for people and I want to be able to represent and connect with our student body. My vision for next years Stuco team is to foster a relational group of leaders who are passionate about connecting with the student body and other student leaders. My vision for the greater CBC community is to provide space for all students to find somewhere to plug into the rest of CBC. I want our community to be one that is welcoming to the outsider, where we are able to build up each other and practice inclusivity. I hope to accomplish this by listening to the needs of the student body and working towards meeting those needs to help create a welcoming atmosphere. I hope to be open and transparent and I would love to hear from people about how the CBC community can become more welcoming.

Candidates for StuCo Vice-President: Finance

The VP-Finance:

The VP finance provides financial guidance and organization for StuCo and oversees all finance-related matters for the team. This is both at a macro-level, for the direction of the whole team, and at a micro-level, for each individual committee, where the responsible administration of funds is key to the success of the year. The VP finance creates the yearly budget proposal, handles all requisitions and reimbursements, holds all committees accountable to their budgets, and does regular bookkeeping work for the team.

Brianna Grando

Meet Brianna

I’m Brianna and I am in my first year at Columbia. In the upcoming year I will be transferring into the Biblical Studies program, playing basketball, and participating in student leadership. I’m originally from Kelowna B.C. and love all outdoor activities under the sun. I am currently running for VP of Finance and hope to bring a new perspective to StuCo as an athlete. I am running for this position because I care about the functionality of the events on campus and this is a way that I can positively influence them. Over the upcoming school year I hope to see the culture at Columbia grow even more. My vision is to bridge the gap between the athletes and the general student body while encouraging accountability within the community. I will achieve this by planning events that fit the athletic calendar and promoting a culture of care on campus.

Candidates for StuCo Vice-President: Communications

The VP-Communications:

The VP communications oversees logistical work for the team and is the primary communicator between StuCo and the Students Association. This involves helping the team and committees stay organized, advertising on campus, making bookings, and connecting to various departments around school, ensuring smooth function. The VP communications also keeps minutes at meetings, prepares and administers files as directed by the president, and takes responsibility for all correspondence, documents, and records (not including finances).
